Level 5 Course in Counselling Children and Young People Terms and Conditions Jan – Nov 2025 Friday cohort

Please read and retain for your records.

Allocation of places will be subject to the agreement of our Director of Learning (Carol Belsey) and the tutor (Mary Clair Kelly). Their decision to invite a qualified counsellor to apply for the course, once an interview has taken place, and/or to accept a qualified counsellor to the course will be final.

By joining the course and paying the deposit you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions for the course as outlined in this document.

CB Counsellor Training Ltd reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Course if minimum numbers of 10 participants are not reached. In this event a full refund will be made.

The course deposit of £300 is due within two weeks of interview to confirm your place on the course. The deposit is non-refundable unless the course is cancelled.

The balance payment of £1200 is due in full by 18th December 2024.

Alternatively, the course balance of £1200 can be paid in instalments.

The schedule for instalment payments is:

5th Nov 24               £150
5th Dec 24               £150
5th Jan 25               £150
5th Feb 25               £150
5th March 25            £150
5th April 25              £150
5th May 25               £150
5th June 25              £150

It is each learner’s responsibility to ensure that their payments arrive on time. We do not send out invoices and do not expect to need to chase qualified counsellors for their payments. Please diarise or set up a standing order if you wish to use the payment plan.

Failure to pay the deposit and/or balance on time may see your place being denied and given to another counsellor on our waiting list. Failure to pay/getting behind with payments will result in learners being asked to leave the course.

If you wish to resign from the course at any stage, please write to Carol Belsey, Director of Learning using info@cbcounsellortraining.co.uk.

The deposit of £300 is non-refundable at all stages of the course and each study day incurs a cost (above the £300 deposit) of £120. Therefore, using the date your email resigning from the course arrives, we will calculate any excess money held by CB Counsellor Training Ltd on your behalf, already paid in full or by standing order, and we will refund it to you, minus an admin charge of £10, up until Day 7’s training day.

From Day 7’s training day no refunds will be made and the full fee for the course will be payable and will be retained.

If you owe CB Counsellor Training Ltd any funds an invoice will be sent to you and payment will be expected within one month. The invoice will state the terms for late payments.

No refunds will be given for individual dates missed by a participant.

A receipt will be issued for your deposit and a second one once all the balance has been paid. Receipts will be sent by email. Please retain these receipts for your records. Duplicate receipts incur an admin charge of £10 to be paid before the duplicate is made available.

Those not achieving all the criteria for the course will be awarded a CBCT Ltd certificate of attendance if they have attended 85% of the course, if requested. This can be converted to the OCN London course completion certificate, upon completion of all the criteria. Please see the Course Guides for more details. These are available within the Moodle classroom.

Those unable to attend 85% of the course can be awarded a certificate of attendance by CBCT Ltd stating the hours attended, if requested, but will not be able to complete the course and receive the OCN London certificate.

All learners are to ensure they are insured to work therapeutically with Children and Young People.

We take your privacy very seriously and will only use personal information given to provide the products, services and information you have requested from us or to administer your account with us.

Disclaimer:
Please note: We will accept hours gained from the first day of the course for the clients log. However, if you have not worked with Children and Young People before, please do not start working with them until you feel the course has given you sufficient knowledge and confidence in your abilities for you to do so and you have the agreement of your supervisor and can make an ethically sound decision to begin to do so.

BACP members should also note that their Training Curriculums ask you to not to begin working with C & YP until you have attended all the course dates.

Overseas learners: This online course is open to learners living overseas and outside of the UK. Please note that we are a UK based training provider and are therefore governed by UK jurisdiction and will only be able to refer to UK Ethical Frameworks and Laws within our course.

Online Courses via Zoom will not normally be recorded, unless for Quality Assurance reasons. Permissions will be sought from each learner before recording any section of the course. The course is offered as a live, interactive training. The Zoom link will be posted into the course’s announcements/notices section within Moodle.

You do not need a paid account for Zoom to access our training, but it is wise to download Zoom before the training day and to familiarise yourself with it, if you have not used it before. Please ensure you have a strong enough connection to be able to use Zoom. No refunds or partial refunds will be given for poor or lost connection at your end of the Zoom connection.

If for any reason the internet fails at the tutor or director of learning’s locations, we will endeavour to get the event back online as soon as possible. Lost time will be made up either on the same day or at a future date.
